  • Built around the JFT-Basic structure
  • Realistic CBT-style practice
  • Instant performance analysis

Aspira Academy is an independent preparation platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Japan Foundation, and practice results are not official JFT-Basic scores.

What the platform does

  • Real exam conditions

One 60-minute clock across all four sections, exactly as the real CBT runs it.

  • Instant results

Accuracy by official question type the moment you submit — no waiting, no marking.

  • Progress you can see

Every attempt stored, so improvement across mocks is measured rather than felt.

  • Targeted practice

Your weakest item types identified, with the next practice set recommended for you.

Your Japan journey

Japan is the goal. The JFT is the gate.

Six steps stand between where you are now and working in Japan. Aspira Academy is built for the three in the middle — the ones where most people lose time.

  1. 01

    Learn Japanese

Build the vocabulary, grammar and listening that daily life and work in Japan actually demand.

  2. 02

    Practise the JFT

    Aspira

Sit full mock exams under the real clock and the real navigation rules, as often as you need.

  3. 03

    Analyse your score

    Aspira

See accuracy per section and per official item type, not just a single number.

  4. 04

    Fix weak areas

    Aspira

Work the categories you are actually losing marks on, and watch the gap close attempt by attempt.

  5. 05

    Take the real exam

Book your JFT-Basic at a Prometric test centre already familiar with the format.

  6. 06

    Move forward to Japan

Use your result toward the Specified Skilled Worker route and the next step of your plan.

The exam itself

Four sections. One 60-minute clock.

The JFT-Basic is a computer-based test with exactly four parts. Our mocks follow that structure — same order, same navigation rules, same audio limits.

Updated August 2026

How the real exam is scored

The official JFT-Basic reports a scaled score from 10 to 250. From August 2026 it assesses three levels: A1, A2.1 and A2.2 (A2). A2.2 is the level generally required for the Specified Skilled Worker route. Practice results on Aspira are raw accuracy, not a scaled score — that conversion needs psychometric equating only the Japan Foundation can perform.

  • *No level assessed10–144

  • A2.1A2.1175–199

Real exam experience

Don’t meet the exam for the first time on exam day.

The pressure, the timing, the navigation, the moment the audio stops for good — all of it is easier the second time. Make the first time a practice run.

Aspira mock exam interface · live component, not an image

One 60-minute clock

All four sections share a single countdown — there is no per-section timer. It keeps running if you close the tab, and submits your paper automatically at zero.

Sections close behind you

Move freely inside a section, but once you continue it is shut for good. The back button will not reopen it, and neither will a second tab.

Audio plays twice, then stops

Listening items run strictly one at a time and each recording plays a maximum of twice, counted on the server. Exactly the constraint you will face on the day.

Your clock, your locked sections and your remaining audio plays are all held on our server — not in your browser. A second tab, a refresh or the developer console will not buy you more time. That is the point.

Practice. Repeat. Improve.

The number that matters is the one that moves.

One mock test tells you where you stand today. Six tell you whether you are going to be ready in time — and that is the question keeping you awake.

Why Aspira Academy

Six reasons, none of them a testimonial.

We are new enough that any pass-rate figure on this page would be invented. Here is what you can verify instead.

01

The rules are enforced, not suggested

Your clock, your locked sections and your audio play count are all held on our server. You cannot accidentally give yourself an easier test than the real one — and neither can a second browser tab.

02

Results in the exam’s own vocabulary

You get accuracy on Kanji Reading, Word Usage, Expression and Information Search — the categories the JFT-Basic is actually built from — rather than a vague “grammar” bucket that tells you nothing about what to study tonight.

03

Bilingual chrome, like the real workstation

Section names, the timer and the navigation are labelled in Japanese and English, the way the real CBT labels them. Nobody should lose seconds on exam day reading 残り時間 for the first time.

04

Honest about what a practice score is

We report raw accuracy and say plainly that it is not the official 10–250 scaled score. A number that flatters you into booking the exam early is worth less than a number you can trust.

05

Every attempt kept

Your full history stays on your account, so the question “am I actually improving?” has an answer with a shape to it instead of a feeling.

06

A real office behind it

Aspira Consultancy is a physical preparation centre in Kathmandu. If the platform is not enough on its own, there are people you can call.

We would rather tell you that you are not ready yet than sell you a number that feels good. A practice platform is only worth paying for if you can trust what it says about you — including when the answer is “not yet”.

Aspira Academy— how we build the scoring
What comes next

The JFT is one step. We’re building the rest.

Passing the language test qualifies you to apply. It does not get you the job, and it is not the only exam on the route. Here is the order we are building in.

Next

JLPT N4 preparation

Many employers ask for N4 on top of the JFT. Same mock-and-analyse engine, second exam.

Soon

Japanese interview simulator

Practise the interview that decides whether the job offer arrives, not just the test that qualifies you for it.

Then

Skill exam preparation

Sector-specific Specified Skilled Worker exams — the second requirement alongside the language test.

Future

AI speaking practice

Spoken response drills for the situations you will meet at work, with feedback after each attempt.

The bigger plan

JFT-Basic is one step toward Japan. We intend to cover the whole route.

  1. JFT preparation
  2. Interview practice
  3. Skill exam
  4. Japan

Only JFT-Basic preparation is available today. The rest are planned, not shipped — we will not charge you for them until they exist.

  • The Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese is a computer-based test that measures whether you have enough Japanese for everyday life in Japan. It is one of the language routes to the Specified Skilled Worker status. It reports a scaled score from 10 to 250, and from August 2026 it assesses three levels — A1, A2.1 and A2.2 (A2) — where A2.2 is the level generally required for that route.

  • No, and we will never suggest otherwise. Aspira Academy is an independent preparation platform with no affiliation to the Japan Foundation. Our mocks are built around the published JFT-Basic structure so that the format, timing and pressure are familiar; the real test is booked separately through a Prometric test centre.

  • Exactly four sections, in the official order: Script & Vocabulary, Conversation & Expression, Listening Comprehension and Reading Comprehension. One 60-minute clock covers all four. You can move freely within a section, but once you continue to the next one the previous section locks. Listening runs one question at a time and each recording plays a maximum of twice.

  • On JFT Pro, yes — you can re-sit the available mock sets as many times as you like during your two months, and every attempt is stored so you can compare them.

  • Yes. The moment you submit, you get your overall accuracy, your accuracy in each of the four sections, and a breakdown by the exam’s own item types — Kanji Reading, Word Usage, Expression, Information Search and so on. Your weakest types are named and turned into a suggestion for what to practise next.

  • A practice score. We report raw accuracy as a percentage. The official 10–250 scaled score is produced by the Japan Foundation using psychometric equating, which no practice test can reproduce — so we do not pretend to, and we label every practice result accordingly.

  • The JFT-Basic targets roughly A2, so if you are starting from zero you will want to study alongside your practice rather than only sitting mocks. What the platform is genuinely good at from day one is telling you honestly how far you currently are from the level, and which of the four sections is furthest behind.

  • JFT Pro is NPR 999 for 2 months of full access. It does not renew automatically. Payment is arranged directly with our team — request an account and they will confirm the details with you.

  • Yes — the dashboard, results and section practice all work on a phone. For full 60-minute mock exams we still recommend a laptop or desktop, because the real JFT-Basic is taken at a computer in a test centre and you want the rehearsal to match it.

  • Use “Start JFT practice” to send us a short request with your name, email and phone number. Our team sets the account up and confirms by email. Free in-office practice needs no account at all — just visit us in Kathmandu.

Your goal is Japan.

Practise it properly first. Find out where you actually stand, fix what is weak, and book the real exam when the numbers say you are ready — not when you are hoping.
